A vertical shaft windmill with a deceleration control system is capable of preventing damage to a generator by preventing excessive rotation of a rotating shaft. The vertical shaft windmill with a deceleration control system comprises: a stop shaft; a rotating shaft sleeve-coupled to the stop shaft to be rotated; a plurality of blades fixed to the rotating shaft; and a generator arranged between the stop shaft and the rotating shaft. The deceleration control system includes: a damping plate; a magnetic force generating unit; a rectifier; and a control unit. The magnetic force generating unit generates a damping effect by generating eddy current. The rectifier converts an AC voltage output from the generator into a DC voltage. The control unit is coupled between the rectifier and the magnetic force generating unit and sets a conductive level. When the DC voltage is lower than the conductive level, the rectifier and the magnetic force generating unit are electrically disconnected with each other. When the DC voltage is higher than the conductive level, the rectifier and the magnetic force generating unit are electrically connected with each other. |
