The present invention relates to an application processor. The application processor includes a memory controller; a display block; and a power management unit. The memory controller controls an external memory which is used to store the image signals to be displayed on the display unit. The display block includes an inner frame buffer; and a display controller which is used to store image signals to be displayed on the display unit. The power management unit adaptively controls the power mode of a first power area including the display block, a second power area including the memory controller, and a top power area which is the remaining area other than the first and second power area based on the power control overhead index and the attributes of the image signals to be displayed. |
