<p>An article with a three dimensional reinforcing structure covered with thermoplastic materials is formed from a two dimensional reinforced platform structure by folding it while the thermoplastic material is soft at least near the fold line. The platform may be held in a clamp provided with a roller to form a fold transversely along the edge. Either the reinforced article or only the plastic material may be folded. The plastic covering may be applied by vacuum forming, compression or injection moulding or by extruding sheets around the platform. Used for material handling pallets, cases for packaging articles e.g. bottles. Construction is simple and rapid and the product more rigid.</p> |
