<p>The body has two parallel end faces, and transducer axes of linear transversal polorisation are crossed. Both transducers are mounted on only one of the body's end faces. They serve for simultaneous transmission or reception of h.f. acoustic waves modulated with l.f. signals shifted in phase by 90 deg. The body consists over its whole length of an isotropic material, and its length is such that the two waves are vectorially added and produce a resultant wave of constant amplitude, rotating at the angular frequency of the l.f. modulation. In an embodiment two small plates (4 & 5) are mounted at one end of the elongated body (1) to form wave transducers.</p> |
