摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode active material for nonaqueous electrolyte secondary batteries which allows the balance among a low-temperature output characteristic, a cycle characteristic, a load characteristic, other battery characteristics and the cost to be achieved.SOLUTION: A positive electrode active material for nonaqueous electrolyte secondary batteries comprises, as a primary component, secondary particles of a lithium transition metal complex oxide expressed by the following general formula: LiNiMnCoO(where 0.3≤x≤0.6; 0.2≤y≤0.5; 0.5≤x+y≤1.0; 0.0≤z≤0.30; and 1.0≤x/y). The secondary particles has a specific surface area of 2.5-12 m/g, and includes at least one element M selected from a group consisting of boron, silicon, and phosphorus.
