<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism for reducing the size of a lens barrel in the radial direction by making small a focus adjusting mechanism that shifts the lenses of the lens barrel equipped with an iris unit and an imaging element in the optical axis direction in relative terms.SOLUTION: A lens barrel comprises a lens holding member 1 holding image pickup lenses L1a and L1b, an element holding member 4 holding an imaging element 11 and capable of shifting in the optical axis direction relative to the lens holding member 1, and an iris unit 3 that adjusts the luminous energy coming incident through the lens optical systems L1a and L1b. Between the lens holding member 1 and the element holding member 4, first engaging parts 1a, 1b, 4a and 4b that guide the lens holding member 1 to be shiftable in the optical axis direction relative to the element holding member 4 are disposed, and the first engaging parts 1a, 1b, 4a and 4b are so arranged as to partly overlap the external contour of the iris unit 3 as seen in the optical axis direction.</p> |
