PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical filter with a metallic thin film capable of transmitting a specific wavelength with high selectability and transmittance, and to provide an optical filter laminate.SOLUTION: An optical filter 100 of the present invention includes a metallic thin film 101 having openings 104 of a same shape arranged at every constant interval A on a thin film surface thereof, where each opening 104 is shaped such that an island-like structure 103 made of a same material as the metallic thin film 101 is located inside a through hole 102 penetrating the metallic thin film 101. The arrangement of the openings 104 is preferably a symmetrical arrangement and optimally a triangular lattice arrangement.
