<p>The present invention relates to a walking route providing apparatus and method. The walking route providing apparatus according to the present invention includes an information input unit into which a user inputs at least one of a departure point, a destination, a current location, and an evaluation item as to walking safety, walking convenience, or road environment for walking route selection; a parameter setting unit that sets a parameter for walking environment evaluation calculation with respect to the walking route corresponding to the input information; an evaluation calculation unit that calculates the walking environment evaluation with respect to the walking route by using the set parameter; and a walking route selection unit that selects the walking route with the maximum walking environment evaluation and provides the walking route with the maximum walking environment evaluation for the user. According to the present invention, pedestrians deciding on walking paths can be provided with information as to the safety, convenience, and exercise-suitability of walking routes and paths. In addition, local governments can set their walking path repair and maintenance priorities since the walking environment evaluation is provided based on calculation reflecting the walking path land use characteristics. Also, the present invention can be utilized in walking path improvement, and thus the waste of budget for walking path repair and maintenance can be prevented.</p> |
