PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device which can perform control to stop emission of irradiation light without requiring manual operation or the like when an insertion state of a probe is not preferable for emission of the irradiation light.SOLUTION: A light source device includes: a semiconductor light emitting element 1 for emitting irradiation light; a light detecting part 3 for detecting light; a housing 8 which holds the semiconductor light emitting element 1 and the light detecting part 3 and allows a base end side of the probe to be inserted from outside in the way that a base end of the probe is positioned on an optical path of the irradiation light; a movable member 2 which is movable to a reference position when the probe is not inserted in the housing 8 at all and an insertion position when the probe is normally inserted in the housing 8, and reflects light generated from the inside of the housing 8 so that it becomes reflection light to be detected by the light detecting part 3 in different intensity between the reference position and the insertion position; and a control unit 5 which determines on the basis of the intensity of the reflection light detected by the light detecting part 3 whether or not the probe is normally inserted in the housing 8. |
