PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wrinkle smoothing roll 52, a wrinkle smoothing method and the like, capable of uniformly and surely removing film wrinkles 54 generated on a long resin film 51 through treatment accompanying a heat load.SOLUTION: A wrinkle smoothing roll has a width-expanding mechanism including: a rubber coating film for coating an outer peripheral surface of the roll; and a plurality of periodical groove bodies 53 extended in V shape from a base end side toward both axial end sides, the base end side being an outer peripheral line 52P formed by connecting center points located at the axial center on the surface. The periodical groove bodies are partitioned into a center region 52a whose center has the outer peripheral line and both side regions 52b and 52c located on both sides of the center region in the axial direction. In the center region, the periodical groove bodies provided on a left-side region 52a1 and a right-side region 52a2 are respectively extended from the left-side region toward the right-side region over the outer peripheral line, and from the right-side region toward the left-side region over the outer peripheral line, such that a V-shaped tip end is not formed inside the center region. |
