<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the safety of writing of data in a recording medium by issuing a warning to a user by changing the monitor threshold of the number of alternative blocks of a recording medium by host equipment.SOLUTION: A recording device 100 includes: a recording medium 103 for, when the residual quantity of an alternative block area becomes less than a threshold, issuing a warning; a host equipment discrimination part 109 for discriminating host equipment of the recording medium 103; an alternative block number threshold setting part 112 for setting the threshold of the number of alternative blocks of the recording medium 103. The recording device 100 is configured to discriminate the host equipment which performs recording to the recording medium 103 by the host equipment discrimination part 109, and sets the information of the threshold selected in accordance with the discrimination result of the host equipment discrimination part 109 by the alternative block number threshold setting part 112.</p> |
