<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic tape manufacturing method capable of forming a uniform magnetic layer side lubricant layer on a surface of a magnetic tape in a simple manner and achieving cost reduction.SOLUTION: There is provided a manufacturing method of a magnetic tape 1 comprising: a magnetic tape body 2 in which a magnetic layer 5 is laminated and formed on one surface of a nonmagnetic support medium 3; and a magnetic layer side lubricant layer 7 formed on a surface 2a of the magnetic tape body on which the magnetic layer is formed. The method includes: fabricating an impregnated application cloth 11 obtained by impregnating an application cloth with lubricant; then heating the impregnated application cloth; and causing the heated impregnated application cloth to run on and to be slidably brought into contact with the surface of the magnetic tape body on which the magnetic layer is formed, thereby forming the magnetic layer side lubricant layer.</p> |
