PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To preferably maintain a vehicle platoon even when other vehicle intrudes between vehicle groups.SOLUTION: In a vehicle platoon controller, acceleration/deceleration of an own vehicle is controlled, when a plurality of vehicles are driven in a line on the same lane, to follow a preceding vehicle. Acceleration/deceleration of the own vehicle is controlled so that vehicular gap between vehicle groups is wider than gap between vehicles within the vehicle group. When the vehicle group is formed by the vehicles in a line and other vehicle from an adjacent lane is determined to intrude between the vehicle groups, the other vehicle is concatenated with the front side vehicle group to reorganize the vehicle group. If concatenation of the other vehicle results in exceeding a predetermined upper limit number of vehicles belonging to the vehicle group, the vehicle group is divided and reorganized when a predetermined time period lapses after the concatenation of the other vehicle. |
