<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce degradation of image quality caused by correction of a defect.SOLUTION: A solid-stage image pickup device 400 has a solid-state image pickup element 410 for outputting a video signal, a level determining circuit 411 for determining whether the output level of the image signal is equal to a saturation level or more, a pixel extracting circuit 412 for extracting a first pixel area around a pixel being interest when the output level is equal to the saturation level or more, a determining circuit 413 for determining whether the pixel being interest is a defective pixel or not (1) by using pixel values of plural pixels contained in the first pixel area when the output level is equal to the saturation level or more or (2) by using pixel values of plural pixels contained in a second pixel area which is different from the first pixel area and is around the pixel being interest when the output level is less than the saturation level, and a defect correction circuit 414 for correcting the pixel value of the pixel being interest on the basis of the pixel values of the pixels around the pixel being interest.</p> |
