PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow even a user not having operation authority beforehand to use an apparatus.SOLUTION: An information processing system including one or more computers and connected to an apparatus via a network includes: reception means that receives a request to a predetermined destination; generation means that generates authority identification information for identifying the operation authority of the apparatus in response to the reception of the request; storage means that stores the authority identification information generated by the generation means; and transmission means that transmits the authority identification information to a transmission source of the request. When the authority identification information stored in the storage means is input, the apparatus limits the values that can be set for the setting items related to functions of the apparatus.
