PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic image device capable of accurately and quickly estimating a point-spread function required for restoration of an ultrasonic image and a method of controlling the same.SOLUTION: An ultrasonic image device includes: a probe 230 which irradiates a target site of an object body with an ultrasonic wave and receives reflected ultrasonic echo to output an ultrasonic signal; a reception beam former 260 which performs beam forming of the ultrasonic signal to output the ultrasonic signal subjected to the beam forming; a point-spread function database 280 which includes a point-spread function previously acquired for a condition variable and a phase parameter previously set for a condition variable with respect to the ultrasonic signal subjected to the beam forming; and an image generation part 270 which generates an image by selecting the point-spread function and the phase parameter from the point-spread database on the basis of the ultrasonic signal subjected to the beam forming and performing deconvolution using a point-spread function estimated based on the selected point-spread function and the phase parameter.
