<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which: a filter that is used in a BW monochrome sensor used for a scanner has the characteristics similar to that of a Green filter used in an RGB color sensor, which leads to the occurrence of a phenomenon in which part of information on blue and red bands is missed; and therefore, when a document is read in a monochrome reading mode and the read image is transmitted by fax, the reproducibility of a pale blue image part of the document is reduced in a transmitted image.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus determines whether or not destinations of fax transmission are included in transmission destinations during the execution of a transmission job, and when the destinations of fax transmission are included, reads a document in a color reading mode with an RGB sensor of a scanner even when a color mode in job settings is specified with the black and white binary, so as to create a monochrome image from the image read in a color reading mode through color space conversion processing, and thereby solving the problem of a reduction in reproducibility of pale blue due to the sensor characteristics of the scanner.</p> |
