摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for minimizing a total cost of a wireless sensor network for monitoring conditions in a railway civil engineering structure in which a minimum period of a network life can be handled by models.SOLUTION: A wireless sensor network transfers data obtained by multiple sensors 2 disposed in a railway civil engineering structure to a gateway 13 using the sensors 2 and/or relays, and the transferred data is collected in a management server. The wireless sensor network is constructed so that the battery replacing work is carried out in conformity to periodical inspection in order to minimize a total sum of the installation cost of the relays, the consumption cost of batteries for driving the sensors 2 and the relays, and the replacement work cost of the batteries, and a plurality of gateways 13 available for the wireless sensor network are arranged, and the electric power consumption at each sensor 2 is leveled.
