PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a white balance including a high luminance area and a low luminance area in an image display device using a MEMS and a laser light source.SOLUTION: An image processing part of a device superposes a signal based on a first measurement value of the quantity of light at a first temperature on a blanking period of a video signal to be supplied to a laser light source, and further superposes a high frequency signal on an effective scan period of the video signal. An amplification factor of a light source driving part is changed such that a second measurement value at a second temperature approaches with the first measurement value at the first temperature as a target value on the basis of the second measurement value obtained by measuring the quantity of light of light emitted by the laser light source in a signal based on the first measurement value at the second temperature different from the first temperature. Superposition of the high frequency signal performs white balance control in a low luminance area that is particularly difficult to control with high accuracy. |
