Feeding workpiece through machine tool - by using support table as stator and workpiece as rotor of linear induction motor

The arrangement for feeding a workpiece (3) through a machine tool (1) comprises placing the workpiece on the stator (2) of a linear induction motor and moving it as rotor (linor) with the stator serving as support surface. The workpiece may, in this way, be fed, positioned and secured, e.g. for grinding, sawing or milling.
