<p>A filter assembly for high-pressure fluids consists of a cylindrical housing with an inlet, in line with an outlet, in the upper part. A filter basket, accessible from the top, consists of a perforated tube with a handle in which a rolled-over overlapping filter screen with a fine mesh is inserted. The fluid flow direction is from the inside outwards. Assembly can absorb much higher fluid pressures than a filter with an inward flow direction. The available passage area is much greater than with conventional filters. The filter screen is simple and inexpensive and it can be readily exchange or cleaned.</p> |
