一种外观瑕疵检测系统及方法，该系统用于：获取检测装置的摄像单元摄取的待测样本的当前影像，该当前影像包括该待测样本的侧边影像及投射影像；对待测样本的侧边影像进行瑕疵检测作业，并根据待测样本的投射影像确定待测样本的转动角度；当待测样本的侧边影像中检测出瑕疵时，根据该待测样本的转动角度获取对应的侧边影像范本；将待测样本的侧边影像与该获取的侧边影像范本进行比对，确定待测样本中出现瑕疵的侧边区块。利用本发明可提高检出待测样本外观瑕疵的准确性。; detecting shape flaws in the side image of the testing sample, and determining a moving angle of the testing sample according to the projected image of the testing sample; obtaining a side image template corresponding to the moving angle of the testing sample when a shape flaw is detected in the side image; and determining a side area of the testing sample where the shape flaw is detected by comparing the side image of the testing sample with the side image template.
