<p>The bobbin mandrel has a shaft, and a tubular carrier at one end, with longitudinal slots. Wedge-shaped shoulders of expanding jaws engage into the slots. An expanding sleeve is displaced, via a hydraulic cylinder within the carrier. The sleeve (7) is formed as a hydraulic cylinder, and supports itself on a piston rod (8) the ends of which are supported in a bore (12) of the bobbin shaft (2) and a flange-shaped cover (13) at the end of the shaft. On the drive side, the piston rod has blind bores (14, 15) of different depths. The bores are connected via flexible hoses to an oil supply on the drive-side end of the bobbin shaft, and open into transverse bores (16, 17) which in turn end in ring chambers (18, 19).
