Stackable containers and associated method for the transport of plants

A closure (110) forаstackable container (170) is disclosed. The closure seals a first container and locates the base of a second container with respect to the first container. The closure includes a former (120) for forming and maintainingаvoid (16) within the contents of the container (170). An edge portion facilitates sealing of the container and locates the first container with respect to at least one other container in an array of similar containers (see Fig. 15a). The lid (110) facilitates formation of an array of first and second containers (170) for transportation purposes. The closure (110) can form a void in a plant growing material when transported and later a plant may be inserted into the void for sale.
