The present invention provides a multi-input/multi-output system which employs BICM (Bit-Interleaved Coded Modulation) and has improved diversity. A multi-input/multi-output system according to the present invention includes a transmitting device and a receiving device. The transmitting device includes: a channel encoder for encoding a plurality of data layers using a channel code; a first interleaver for receiving an output of the channel encoder and for random-interleaving the output of the channel encoder; a network encoder for network-encoding the data layers interleaved by the first interleaver; and a second interleaver for random-interleaving the data layers network-encoded by the network encoder. The receiving device includes: a detector for outputting signals received through a receiving antenna according to the data layers; a demapper for calculating an LLR (Log-Likelihood Ratio) value of bit data included in the data layer output from the detector; a first deinterleaver for deinterleaving the data layers output from the demapper, respectively; a network decoder for network-decoding the data layers output from the first deinterleaver; and a second deinterleaver for deinterleaving the decoded data layers output from the network decoder.
