The signalling system comprises the rail-guided vehicle with its lateral guide arms and rollers which follow the side guide rails or channels. A head of the vehicle/locomotive at salient positions along the track are vehicle-operated switches which are connected to signals lines running alongside the track. The switch mechanism consists of a hinged flat with its outer, free end facing away from the vehicle. The hinge is fitted with a return spring which holds it in the ready position. As the vehicle's guide roller passes over the flat, the latter is depressed into a recess in the rail and in turn depresses the actuator of the switch.
|
