<p>A heat exchanger has a support frame member for reinforcement, the support frame member being provided at the peripheral edge of the core. The support frame member (10) includes: tongue-shaped flat plate end sections (11) inserted in receiving holes formed in tanks, each of the flat plate end sections (11) extending a predetermined length (Lt) from each end of the support frame member (10) in the longitudinal direction (LD) and being disposed near each of the side sections of the core; a side wall installation section (13) having left and right side walls (14a, 14b) formed by bending and raising left and right expanded-width sections which are extended along the center axis (CL) and which are respectively expanded in width from the positions of the left and right ends of the flat plate end sections by the same width (Wt) in the width direction (WD) perpendicular to the center axis (CL); and intermediate sections (12) which are each located between each of the flat plate end sections (11) and the side wall installation section (13), each of the intermediate sections (12) being configured so that, before the left and right expanded-width sections are bent, the intermediate section (12) has an isosceles trapezoid shape in which, in a plan view, the width thereof is gradually changed according to the difference between the widths of the flat plate end section and the side wall installation section and so that, when portions of the intermediate section are bent and raised by deformation by the bending, the portions become triangular side walls (15) which continue from the flat plate end section to the left and right side walls.
