摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method for producing a titanium oxide-carbon composite having a high specific surface area and excellent conductivity, containing a highly-active anatase type crystal, and having a small content of a heavy metal. <P>SOLUTION: A titanium oxide-carbon composite in which the surface of tubular or fiber-shaped carbon is coated with a coating layer formed of linkage of particular titanium oxide is produced by a step for forming the coating layer formed of linkage of particulate titanium oxide on the surface of tubular or fiber-shaped polyaniline, to thereby produce a titanium oxide-polyaniline composite, and a step for heating the titanium oxide-polyaniline composite, to thereby convert polyaniline into carbon. In the titanium oxide-carbon composite, the constituting particulate titanium oxide contains anatase type titanium oxide, and the content of a heavy metal can be controlled to be≤1,000 ppm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p>
