<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phenol resin which has a high functionality of a high carbon density, high thermostability, a high refractive index, a fluorescence property or the like, and to provide a curable composition including the same and a cured product. <P>SOLUTION: The phenol resin includes a compound shown by formula (1) as a phenol component, and is obtained by being polymerized by at least one of a crosslinking agent selected from the group consisting of aldehydes, dimethylol compounds, alkenes, and ketones under the presence an acid catalyst.
