A portable electric lamp which has batteries recharged by solar energy consists of a group of photo-electric cells connected through a diode to an accumulator. The accumulator is, in turn, connected to an oscillator which supplies alternating current to a fluorescent tube. The components are assembled inside a rectangular case which is fitted with a suitable handle for carrying. A switch is provided on the top of the case and a discharge limiting device is fitted into the circuit to prevent a complete running down of the battery. |
