PURPOSE:To let the recording medium be well adapted to a high speed heat sensitive recording system by containing a phenolic compound which forms color by making contact to a color formable compound in a heat sensitive recording layer in a mixed molten state with waxes. CONSTITUTION:A phenolic compound 1 pt.wt. and waxes of high compatibility therewith 0.1 to 10 pts.wt., preferably 0.5 to 3 pts.wt. are heated and stirred to be sufficiently melted, after which the mixture is slow cooled. The compatibly melted product having solidified is ground and is dispersed into an aqueous solution of a binding resin. A normally colorless or pale colored color formable compound is also dispersed into the aqueous solution of the binding resin. Both dispersions are mixed and the mixture is coated on a substrate 201 and is then dried, whereby a recording layer 202 is formed. This enables the heat sensitive recording medium which obviates unnecessary deposition of scum, etc. thermal heads is low in ground density, is good in contact characteristic to thermal heads and is superior in responsiveness to heat pulses to be obtained. |
