Electronic power DC switch - has HV resistant transistor and thyristor controlled by ignition and blocking pulses

The switch has an h. v. resistant transistor for switching direct currents. The transistor (1) base is connected to its collector through a first resistor (7) and a thyristor (6), whose current direction is the same as that of the transistor (1) collector current (10). Its base is connected through a second resistor (9) to its emitter. The transistor (1) and thyristor (6) are tripped to their conducting states by ignition pulses applied to the thyristor gate. They are blocked by a blocking pulse applied to a series circuit consisting of the resistor (7) and transitor (1) base-emitter path. The pulse duration is longer than the thyristor (6) release time.
