<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor controller which can suppress increase in cost and the processing load of a CPU while enhancing the reliability of rotation drive control of a motor. <P>SOLUTION: Abnormality diagnosis is performed (S10) of all encoder signals (n, n=m+p) including m encoder signals required for rotation drive control of a motor, and p preliminary encoder signals, and the phase information of normal encoder signals is output to a CPU 60 (S11).
