1501725 Connection for water fittings GROHE HANDELS GmbH 15 April 1975 [19 April 1974] 15407/75 Heading F2G A connector for connecting a water fitting to a supply comprises a plug and socket the plug comprising a nipple 33 (Fig. 1), and sleeve 35 having pins 36 which engage grooves 37 of a rosette 39, and the socket comprising a casing 30, plug valve 31 and a ball cage 41 retained by a cap 140. The plug valve 31 is provided with claws 32 which engage claws 43a of sleeve 35 and claws 41a of the ball cage so that when the nipple 33 is introduced into the plug valve 31 and the rosette 39 turned, the ball cage 41 is rotated in the casing 30 whereby balls 42 are urged into bores 47 in the sleeve 35 to axially lock the connection. In the axially locked position, opening 48 in the plug valve is in communication with an inlet 48a. In an alternative arrangement (Fig. 4) a water fitting 64 is connected to the plug and may be secured to a wash basin 66 by nuts 63 and the socket comprises a casing 50 having two inlets 51, 52, the complete connector being used for a one-hole mixing faucet for hot and cold water. |
