<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain excellent ignitability while reducing production costs in an ignition system which has a current application part, and of which the application path of current to an ignition plug is made into one. <P>SOLUTION: An ignition system 101 has: an insulator 2 which has a shaft hole 4; a center electrode 5; a ground electrode 27; and a cavity part 28, includes: an ignition plug 1 formed with a gap 29; and one ignition coil 45 which is connected to the ignition plug 1 between both electrodes 5, 27, and a current application part 41 which applies the current to the gap 29. The ground electrode 27 has a through hole 27H, and the inner peripheral surface of the through hole 27H is located closer to the outer peripheral side than an opening of the shaft hole 4. A path on which the current is applied to the ignition plug 1 is made into one, and only current based on output current from the ignition coil 45 is applied to the ignition plug 1. The current application part 41 applies current for a plurality of times to the gap 29 in a single burning process in an internal combustion engine EN to which the ignition plug 1 is attached. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
