<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat insulator which can be constructed from underneath, a construction method of a heat insulator, and a roof insulation structure. <P>SOLUTION: The heat insulator 1 used for an insulation structure of a roof 53 comprises a plate shaped heat insulation plate 11 which extends between neighboring purlins 55 and 57 of the roof 53 in an installation state and has an eaves-side end surface 11a that is formed flat alongside of a side face 55a of the eaves-side purlin 55 and a ridge-side end surface 11b that is formed flat alongside of a side face 57b of the ridge-side purlin 57, and a claw part 14 which is arranged on the eaves-side end surface 11a of the heat insulation plate 11 and hooks into the eaves-side purlin 55 in the installation state.
