The indoor exercise cycle has a folding frame consisting of two tubular elements (1, 6) hinged to each other at a common axle and joined to front and back feet (2, 8). The saddle (4) is fitted on one tube (1) and the pedals (17) and handlebars (9) are fitted on the other (6). The pedal shaft turns in a bearing fitted under the front tube (6) between the axle of the tubes and the back foot (8). A free wheel (25) is turned by a strap connected to the pedals. A brake acting on the pedal plate is operated by a handle controlling the intensity of braking.
