摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor using a new gallium phthalocyanine compound that has large solubility in organic solvents to improve the quality and stability of images produced by an electrophotographic apparatus (e.g., copier, laser printer), an image forming method, an image forming apparatus, and a process cartridge for the image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The new gallium phthalocyanine compound has large solubility in an organic solvent. Therefore, refining treatment by re-crystallization or adsorption treatment using silica gel, alumina, etc., is possible to obtain a charge generating material having reduced amount impurities. In addition, the target product can be obtained without acid paste treatment using sulfuric acid, which also contributes to production of a product having reduced amount of impurities. Therefore, the gallium phthalocyanine compound is excellent as a charge generating material for use in an electrophotographic photoreceptor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p>
