The present invention relates to an apparatus (100) for visualizing features and/or defects of a dental instrument having a longitudinal axis, the apparatus comprising:
(a) a holder (with the rigid structure 20) having
(a1) an image background surface (12), and
(a2) a holding means (with the abutment 141) for positioning a dental instrument adjacent to the image background surface (12);
(b) means for arranging the image background surface (12)of the holder in a predetermined position relative to a digital camera (30), whereby, when the image background surface (12) is arranged in a predetermined position relative to the digital camera (30), the apparatus defines an optical path between the image background surface (12)and the digital camera (30), and the holding means may receive and hold the dental instrument in a predetermined position in the optical path adjacent to the image background surface (12). |
