The present invention relates to a pyrolysis apparatus (1) having a reaction chamber (2), an introduction apparatus(3) for processing material (4) connected to the reaction chamber (2), and a product outlet (5) connected to the reaction chamber (2), the reaction chamber (2) containing a metal melt under operating conditions, and the introduction apparatus (3) introducing processing material (4) into the metal melt present in the reaction chamber (2) under operating conditions with virtual exclusion of air, characterized in that the introduction apparatus (3) has at least one immersed tube (6) which has an open end in the region close to the bottom of the reaction chamber (2), and the immersed tube (6) does not have any moving parts in the region of the reaction chamber (2).
