The purpose of the present invention is to provide a positive electrode active material for a lithium rechargeable battery having high capacity and excellent life property when charging and discharging at high capacity. More specifically, provided is a positive electrode active material for a lithium rechargeable battery including a porous material having a first particle and a second particle condensed by the first particle, wherein the porous material has 0.3-1.0 g/cc of tap density. Also, provided are a preparation method thereof, and a positive electrode and the lithium rechargeable battery comprising the same.
