<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power conversion device capable of converting a large reciprocal linear motion with greatly varying stroke lengths to rotational motion in a constant direction with high efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The power conversion device 3 comprises a reciprocal motion member 10, a first turning member 21 performing turning motion about a first shaft 11, a second turning member 22 performing turning motion about a second shaft 12, a first rotation member 31 performing rotational motion about the first shaft 11, and a second rotation member 32 performing rotational motion in an opposite direction to that of the first rotation member 31 about the second shaft 12 in engagement with the first rotation member 31. The power of the first linear motion of the reciprocal motion member 10 is converted to the first turning motion of the first turning member 21. The power of the first turning motion is transmitted to the first rotation member 31. On the other hand, the power of the second linear motion of the reciprocal motion member 10 is converted to the second turning motion of the second turning member 22.
