<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vending machine which is improved so that the shape of an anti-theft member can be simplified and the anti-theft member can be stably held. <P>SOLUTION: In a vending machine, an anti-theft member 13 forming a communication hole which connects a paper money insertion slot 7 and a paper money conveyance passage of a paper money identification device 22 is locked in a standby position between the paper money insertion slot 7 of the vending machine and the paper money conveyance passage of the paper money identification device 22, and when the lock is released by external force, the anti-theft member 13 falls due to its own weight and blocks an access path from the paper money insertion slot 7 to a paper money guide port part 221.
