Beet-leaf harvester

In a beet-leaf harvester which consists of a beet-topping device, of a screening band conveying upwards the beet tops provided bearing leaves, of a take-off roller equipped with radially arranged elastic tabs and located at the end of the screening band and of a bunker receiving the beet leaves, because at least one further equidirectionally rotating roller with a distance of 1 to 20 cm of its impact circle from the impact circle of the preceding roller is provided the beet leaves are fed to the bunker in such a way that stones also taken up are removed from the beet leaves and cannot, in the crushed state, harm the stomachs of cattle. If there is arranged behind the last roller and next to the bunker at least one roller which is equipped with belts and is driven at a higher rotational speed and the axis of which is perpendicular to the axis of the preceding roller, the beet leaves are conveyed to the bunker in compact form, without stones being crushed at the same time. The beet leaves thus obtained secrete only a little liquid during ensilage, thereby preventing harm to the environment and adversely affecting the nutritional value of the fodder.
