The present invention relates to an anode active material for a lithium secondary battery including LiVOPO_4 and a manufacturing method thereof, and, more specifically, to an anode active material for a lithium secondary battery with a high capacity, and a manufacturing method thereof. The anode active material for a lithium secondary battery is stable and reduces the capacity loss of a secondary battery by supplying an anode active material for a lithium secondary battery including LiVOPO4 having an olivine structure.
