PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium ion secondary battery manufacturing method which makes it possible to form an excellent separator layer free of pin holes (bubble marks) on the surface of a cathode or an anode.SOLUTION: The manufacturing method includes a separator layer formation process in which a paste 18 containing polyolefin particulates 151 is coated on the surface of a cathode 130 or an anode 120, and the coating is dried to form a separator layer 150 containing the polyolefin particulates 151. The separator layer formation process uses the paste 18 which contains the polyolefin particulates 151 and a thickener as its solid contents. The percentage of the thickener in the solid contents of the paste 18 is in the range 0.1 to 0.4 wt%, and also the percentage of the solid contents of the paste 18 is in the range 35 to 39 wt%. |
