<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive lithographic printing plate precursor for an infrared laser that has an excellent difference (solubility discrimination) in solubility of developing solution between an exposure part and a non-exposure part, and suppresses a reduction in developability with time; and a lithographic printing plate obtained using the precursor; and a plate-making method of the lithographic printing plate. <P>SOLUTION: A lithographic printing plate precursor has on a support an image forming layer that contains (A) resin that is water-insoluble and alkali-soluble, (B) a photothermal conversion agent, and (C) a compound represented by the following general formula (I). In the general formula (I), R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>, and R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>represent an alkyl group, and R<SP POS="POST">3</SP>represents a monovalent organic group. Y represents a single bond or an alkylene group, and Z represents an amide group, an imido group, or a sulfonamide group.
