<p>Reel assembly 12 with mounting means 30 for mounting to a vessel, e.g. ship, boat or barge. The spooling axis is perpendicular to the vessel deck. Reel 12 has spooling hub 24, first retaining means or flange 22 and second flange 20. Distance between flanges 22, 20 is adjustable, and spooling hub 24 circumference decreases from first flange 22 to second flange 20. Spooling perimeter may be adjustable. Spooling hub axis may be vertical and orthogonal to the mounting surface. Spooling hub 24 may comprise longitudinal hub elements 26 spaced apart to form longitudinal slots, providing an incomplete, polygonal, spooling surface. Hub elements 26 may move perpendicular to the hub axis to provide an adjustable spooling axis, and may be at an angle. Second flange 20 may comprise radial members extending between longitudinal slots in hub elements 26, and movable along the spooling axis. Adjustments may increase reel capacity.</p> |
