<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that in a conventional folding stick, hooking the knot of a cord into a groove in the upper portion of a grip for fixing at the time of assembly makes a decision on a shaft length dependent on the position of the knot of the cord and prevents a mechanism to adjust the length from being provided and fitting the cord knot into the groove requires a considerable force. <P>SOLUTION: The folding stick has a plurality of pipe shafts 2 to 5 capable of forming a rod by being axially connected, an operating cord 6 inserted into an axial hole axially penetrating through the rod to have one end supported by pipe shaft 2 on the base end side arranged in one end of the axial direction of the rod and the other end supported by a pipe shaft 5 on the tip end side arranged on the other end of the axial direction of the rod, and an attachment and detachment mechanism 20 provided in the axial hole and permitting the pipe shafts 2 to 5 to be attached and detached by the pulling of the operating cord.
