The present invention relates to an apparatus and method of forming a lug joint using electromagnetic force in which a wire rope and the lug made of steel are firmly engaged by the electromagnetic force. The apparatus includes a power supplier; a forming coil unit for discharging the power supplied from the power supplier to generate the electromagnetic force; a magnetic flux concentrating unit for concentrating the electromagnetic force on the lug and the wire rope; a transfer unit for transferring the lug and the wire rope to a center hole of the magnetic flux concentrating unit; and a reinforcing ring joining unit for jointing a reinforcing ring to the outer surface of the rug.
